2016/17 Internship/volunteer

2016/217 Internships/Externships

Dear Applicant:

Thank you for your interest in CRLA.  We appreciate your desire to help us provide legal services to the rural poor in California. Limited resources mean we cannot accept as many interns/externs/volunteers as we would like to accept.

Our volunteers range from attorneys who provide pro-bono assistance; general office work and assisting with phones, client inquiries, and other front desk responsibilities; development work like fundraising, grant writing and event planning; community activists and educators who conduct community presentations, workshops, or clinics; and any other skill that you would like to share with CRLA. CRLA provides academic-year and summer volunteer opportunities for law students, and frequently undergraduate and high school students.

Application: Please complete the attached application and  return it as soon as possible with your resume.  If you are a law student, you may also send a writing sample (not required).

Funding for Interns: Our budget does not provide for paid intern positions or intern housing, so we need to know your funding status (volunteer, work-study or alternative grant or stipend funding) and what your school or funding source requires from us.  The Human Resources department will complete all required paperwork. Because each school, work-study program or grantor has different requirements, we rely on you to find out what needs to be done by us so we can meet your deadlines in a timely manner.

Opportunities vary by local office. For more information on partnering with CRLA, please contact our Human Resources Department at 510-267-0762 ext. 310 or email us hr@crla.org.
