Cy Pres Award

Nominate CRLA for a Cy Pres Award

CRLA welcomes nominations for Cy pres awards. Cy pres, meaning 'next best use' in Latin, awards allow unclaimed settlement funds from class-action lawsuits to be distributed to organizations that are most likely to benefit or pursue the interests of the class. Attorneys can nominate CRLA for cy pres awards.

Cy pres awards fund direct services to CRLA's low-income clients with limited to no access to legal representation or education. Cy pres awards help CRLA ensure access to safe and decent housing for working-poor families, fight sexual harassment in the agricultural industry, advocate for immigrant civil rights, and other initiatives that directly benefit our client populations.

As a non-profit legal services organization with a long track record of providing no-cost legal representation, community education, and outreach to California's farmworkers and rural poor communities, CRLA is an excellent candidate for cy pres awards. With a cohort of experienced, bi-lingual staff and dedicated attorneys, and long-established relationships with private, non-profit, and government agencies in 22 counties statewide, CRLA is highly qualified to administer cy pres funds for a wide range of activities in an efficient, cost-effective manner.
