Pro Bono Assistance

There are many cases that CRLA is unable to take on due to a lack of resources or federal funding limitations. On average, there is only one attorney for every 10,000 poor people in the United States. In parts of California where CRLA has offices, there is only one attorney for approximately every 27,000 poor people. Everyone deserves representation when their rights are violated. Low income should not be a barrier.

Pro bono literally means "for the good." For the good of our state and the health of our communities, we need attorneys like you to offer your help. As a pro bono attorney with CRLA, you might : take referrals of cases that we cannot handle co-counsel with CRLA attorneys, present clinics, volunteer in a field office, advise and consult with CRLA attorneys, or mentor younger CRLA attorneys.

If you are interested in offering pro bono services for CRLA, please contact Jeff Ponting at jponting@crla.org for more information.
