Volunteer for CRLA

Our volunteers range from attorneys who provide pro-bono assistance; receptionists who assist with phones, client inquiries, and other front desk responsibilities; and community activists and educators who conduct community presentations, workshops, or clinics. CRLA provides academic-year and summer volunteer opportunities for law students, and frequently undergraduate and high school students.

Attorneys: If you are a pro bono attorney and want to help CRLA, please visit our pro bono assistance section.

Law students: Academic year and summer opportunities are available for law students who wish to assist CRLA attorneys with legal services and client cases. You will participate first-hand in a dynamic legal services organization that has been a major player in California's civil rights movement since 1966, and collaborate with a dedicated, inspiring team of CRLA attorneys and community workers. Please see our Employment Opportunities section to download an internship application.

For CRLA fellowship opportunities, please visit our fellowship page.

Other volunteers: Your fund-raising, marketing, event planning, receptionist and other skills are critical in helping CRLA remain a lead agency in the protection of civil rights for California's farmworkers and rural, low-income communities. Volunteer opportunities with CRLA are flexible and commensurate with your skills, experience, and initiative.

Volunteer opportunities vary by local office. For more information on becoming part of CRLA's dedicated team of attorneys, staff, community workers and volunteers, please contact our Human Resource Department 415-777-2752 or email us at pbeardsley@crla.org.
